Those beautiful days
Mr. Keith and Vietnamese assistant is teaching English for two visually impaired women
As one of the volunteers joining into the program this November, I found those day of volunteering with Blind-Link is incredibly unforgettable for not only me but probably for the other volunteers. Those are the days we brainstormed to come up with the best study plan for the blind and visually impaired students and practised together to get used to the teacher’s assistant position. Those are the days we actually organised the classes with the Global Volunteers and helped them to teach the students basic English Communication with less obstacle as possible. And for me especially, those are the days that made me realised and get more understanding how difficult the lives of blind and visually impaired peope could be.
I was totally impressed by their strength and the motivation to overcome the hardships in life, to be independent and be able to provide themselves. During the 2 weeks of volunteering as a team, I got the chance to befriend with other volunteers, they were so passionate and willing to share the knowledge and experiences as well. I could see how improving I was day by day with team work skills, I had more confidence to communicate in English, more patience in dealing with difficulties and challenges.
Thank you Blind-Link for giving me such an incredible and meaningful experience!
